The solid Himalayan cedar table “Dawn” is the lightest in the Forestoff collection.
White oil gives the tabletop a soft milky shade through which fine lines of growth rings and expressive knots show.
The live edge preserves the natural outline of the tree, and the dark metal base emphasizes the light surface. The light shade and textured relief add visual lightness to the massive table.
The surface is brushed: the soft fibers of the wood have been removed, making the relief deeper and the pattern more expressive.
This wood has a special beauty: long lines of grain smoothly flow around the knots, forming a unique pattern.
Himalayan cedar is distinguished by a characteristic woody fragrance due to the natural aromatic substances it contains.
The tabletop is made from an air-dried slab. The wood gradually released moisture into the surrounding air, without forced heating in a drying chamber. This is an unhurried way of preparing solid wood: the drying rate depends on the thickness of the slab, temperature, humidity and air movement.
The tabletop is finished with white hardwax oil. The finish emphasizes the pattern and leaves the texture of the wood visible. Such a table will become a light accent in an interior with concrete, brick and metal, or complement a calm home dining room.
