The wood is yellowish brown, sometimes with a pink tint, with even growth rings. It has a gentle, recognisable scent that stays in the piece for a long time.
Deodar is fairly soft and easy to saw and plane. Its resin protects it from moisture and insects, though we watch for resin pockets when working it.
We use it for wall panelling, furniture, wardrobes and pieces for saunas and terraces.
