In our store, the “Islands” table is offered with two base options — metal and wooden. The tabletop is the same in both cases. On request, we can also make a different base for it.
The name “Islands” comes from the pattern of the tabletop. Fragments of poplar burl are arranged in the clear resin like islands, and the space between them resembles straits and water channels. Thanks to the clear pour, the wood seems to float.
The tabletop is made of poplar burl and EcoPoxy epoxy resin. Swirls of grain, small “eyes”, natural cracks and shade transitions form a complex pattern that cannot be repeated.
Poplar burl
A burl is a woody outgrowth on the trunk or branches of a tree. The fibers inside it grow in different directions and intertwine, creating a characteristic texture with swirls, “eyes” and unusual pattern transitions.
For this natural expressiveness, burl wood is especially valued in designer furniture. Each fragment has its own shape and pattern, so there will never be a second tabletop like this one.
Clear EcoPoxy resin
The resin joins the separate burl fragments into a single tabletop while keeping clear space between them. Through it, the base and the background beneath the table can be seen, which enhances the “islands” effect.
EcoPoxy is produced using renewable plant-based raw materials that partially replace components of petrochemical origin. The manufacturer confirms the bio-based content with independent laboratory tests.
Metal base
The sculptural metal base in a warm golden shade makes the table more modern and graphic. Its curved, intersecting elements are visible through the clear resin and become part of the overall composition. The metal is protected with a powder coating.

We will select a suitable slab, send you photos for approval and make the table within three weeks after all the details are approved.
