Chestnut is light brown with pronounced growth rings. Unlike oak, it has no large rays, so the figure looks simpler and cleaner.
It is medium-hard, easy to work and glues well. Like oak, it contains tannins that protect it from decay.
Chestnut suits tables, furniture, exterior trim and pieces that will live under a canopy.
