Pear is pinkish brown with a soft, warm tone. The growth rings are barely visible, giving an even, velvety surface.
It is dense and tough, cuts cleanly in every direction without tearing, and turns and polishes beautifully. Fine details come out crisp.
We use it for tableware, carved and turned details, small side tables and inlay. It's an indoor wood, as it doesn't like damp conditions.
