Bog oak ranges from silvery grey to charcoal black, and the colour runs right through the board. The oak figure remains, but becomes deeper and quieter.

It is dense yet more brittle than fresh oak, and it has to be dried very slowly or it will crack. We work with it carefully and in small batches.

Because it is rare, we mostly use it for accents: inserts in tabletops, small tables, decor and inlays.

Applications

  • Tabletop inserts and accents
  • Coffee tables
  • Inlay work
  • Decor pieces
