The heartwood starts light pink or golden and gradually turns a reddish brown in daylight. The grain is fine and calm, sometimes with dark mineral streaks.
It is medium-hard and easy to saw, plane and sand. Under oil it develops a silky, low-sheen surface.
Cherry suits dining tables, desks, cabinetry and smaller interior pieces. We don't recommend it for bathrooms or outdoor use.
